Web design for gardeners

Websites for gardeners that fill the round with regular visits

Most gardening work is regular: the same gardens, every fortnight, all year. I build gardeners' sites around getting those customers: what a visit covers, an idea of the price, and every village you work in written out so Google can match you.

The work

See it on a gardener's site

I haven't built for a real gardener yet, so I built one. Tocio Garden Care is made up, but it's a complete site. Pick a month in the garden year, or price a regular visit.

Tocio Garden Care

A one-page site for a gardener, drawn like a gardener's own notebook. Pick a month in the garden year to see what the garden needs and what a visit covers, then price a regular visit and ask about it.

What a gardener's website needs

  • What a regular visit covers

Mowing, edging, weeding, hedges in season. People sign up when they know what they're getting.

  • An idea of the price

An example price per visit for a small, average and big garden. It filters out the jobs you don't want.

  • Every village you cover

Written out, not just "the Vale", so Google can match you to a search in Rhoose or Cowbridge.

  • A form that asks the right things

Garden size, how often, and a photo. You can price most rounds without a visit.

  • A Google listing that matches

Same name, number and areas as the site, and a website link that actually works.

Research

What I keep finding on gardeners' websites

I went through the websites and listings of 19 gardening businesses across Cardiff, the Vale, Newport and the valleys. These are real things I found. I've left the names out.

  1. No idea what a visit costs

Most of the gardeners' websites I checked never said what a regular visit costs, not even a starting price. People who want a fortnightly gardener want a rough figure before they pick up the phone.

  2. A website link that goes nowhere

Two gardeners' listings sent people to websites that no longer exist. One had 26 good reviews on a directory, and tapping "website" gave a page not found error.

  3. 104 perfect reviews and no website

One Cardiff gardener has 104 reviews averaging 10 out of 10 on a trade directory, and no website of their own. Seven of the 19 I checked had no site at all.

  4. A browser tab that says neither what nor where

Three gardeners' homepages had titles like "Home" or just the business name, with no town and no mention of gardening. That title is most of what Google reads first.

Questions gardeners ask

Do you only work with gardeners in Cardiff?

Not just Cardiff. I work with businesses across the UK, mostly by email. If you're local and would rather meet in person, I'm happy to.

Is Tocio Garden Care a real business?

No. It's a concept I built to show how I'd do a gardener's site. There are no real reviews, gardens or customers on it.

How much does a gardener's website cost?

Websites start from £750, with a fixed price agreed before any work starts. Full pricing is on the pricing page. See pricing

Can you sort my Google listing as well?

Yes. Start with the £195 Local Search Audit, one off, no VAT added: where you rank on Google, who is beating you, and the ordered list of what to fix first. It is credited in full against a website build, the £395 Local Search Setup or the first month of Local Visibility if you go ahead within 30 days. See the audit
