What we do

Roofs on homes across Cardiff, Penarth, Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan.

  • Pitched roofs

Slate and tile roofs, from a few slipped slates to stripping and relaying a whole roof that has had its day.

  • Flat roofs(GRP and felt)

Patching one leak, or taking a tired flat roof back to the deck and laying it again in GRP or felt.

  • Repairs

Leaks, storm damage and one-off fixes. Finding where the water gets in comes first.

  • Chimneys and leadwork

Repointing stacks, renewing flashing, and lead wherever a roof meets a wall or a chimney.

  • Gutters and fascias

Clearing, realigning and replacing gutters, downpipes, fascias and soffits.

Repair or replace?

  1. Most leaks are one problem in one place.

A slipped slate, a cracked flashing or a blocked valley. Fix that, and the rest of the roof carries on.

  2. A whole new roof is for when slates are failing everywhere or the battens have gone.

Then patching only moves the leak along. If that is where your roof is, we will say so.

  3. We'll show you photos of what we find, so you can see it for yourself.

Repair or replace, the decision is yours, made from what is actually up there.

How a quote works

  1. Ring or send photos

Tell us what you have noticed. A photo of the stain or the slate on the path helps.

  2. We come and look

From the ground, a ladder or the loft, whichever shows the problem best.

  3. You get photos of what we found and a written price

So you can see the problem yourself before you decide anything.

  4. We book it in

On a day that suits you, with scaffolding arranged if the job needs it.

Questions about your roof

Do you need scaffolding?

Not always. A few slates or a length of gutter can often be done from a ladder or a roof ladder. Chimneys, valleys and bigger jobs usually need scaffolding to be done safely. If yours does, the written price says so.

Will you come out in the rain?

If water is coming in, yes. We get it covered first to stop the water, then come back and fix it properly once it's dry. Most roof repairs need a dry day to be done well.

How long does a flat roof last?

A GRP flat roof usually lasts 20 years or more. A felt one usually lasts 10 to 15. If yours is older than that and has started to blister or hold puddles, replacing it is usually better value than patching it again.

ConceptAbout this site

Coldbrook Roofing is a made-up business. Coreframe Digital designed and built this site as a concept, to show what a roofer's website can do. The phone number comes from the range Ofcom keeps for fiction, so it cannot ring anyone, and the email address cannot receive mail. There are no real reviews, figures or credentials anywhere on it, and the prices are examples.
